Welcome to Skerries Traditional Music Weekend 2024

Welcome to Skerries Traditional Music Weekend 2024. From June 7th to 9th, Skerries will once again play host to some of the best traditional musicians from across the country. The weekend will provide a unique opportunity to hear world class players, up close and personal, in the heart of our community. Now in its 23rd year, we'll have top class sessions all throughout the weekend in many of our fantastic local pubs and venues.

The list of players includes Sorcha Costello, Larry Egan, Paddy Tutty, Ciaran Somers, Dave Sheridan, Paul Doyle, Troy Bannon, Derek Hickey, Jacqui Martin, Paul Bradley, Aisling Lyons, Padraig O Dubhghaill, Dave Sanders, Katie Theasby, Alan Wallace, Alan Byrne, Maurice Egan, Eamonn Mullen, Paudie O'Connor, Aoife Ní Chaoimh, Liam Flanagan, Paul Kelly, Jim Grant, Siobhan Bhreathnach, Sean McElwain, Séamus Ó Flatharta, James O'Mahony, Aidín Ní Mhaonaigh, Claire Maloney.

In 2024 we are continuing to expand the experience. We are very proud to have Gradam Ceoil TG4 Musician of the Year Derek Hickey, who will give a recital on Saturday afternoon with Pádraig Ó Dubhghaill in the Cornerstone Church.

Return visitors will be familiar with a number of our events. The weekend will see the return of the Harp Recital which was such a unique and enjoyable experience last year. 2024 will once again include sessions for teenagers, families, an adult slow session and a singing session. An Age-Action session on Sunday will be a new addition this year. We will also have a CD launch from Dave Saunders.

We are proud to be including two concerts over the weekend that are presented in association with The Lark theater. Sharon Shannon will play on Saturday evening at 8pm in the Lark and Sunday lunchtime will see Séamus and Caoimhe Uí Fhlatharta take to the stage with their beautiful arrangements of both Irish and English language song.

All in all, 2024 promises to be a great celebration of traditional music and continues the festival's commitment to bringing local players and the community together to play and experience the best that the tradition has to offer.
